An excellent article by Wayne Smith highlighting some persistent irritations with the laws. Hopefully the "deliberate" slap down is under review as well. Too many times players are found guilty when there is a real chance of an intercept and a spectacular 90 meter race. IMO this black & white interpretation too often rewards a risky cut-out pass or face-ball, which really deserves to be intercepted. There are already enough "free shots" under advantage as it is. I know some won't agree but I'd rather see a simple knock-on ruled in most circumstances if defenders can't be given reasonable benefit-of-doubt.
