I think you're getting corporate gobledygook and word salads a little confused.
In any event "push back" from medical staff is a pretty lame reason. As has been pointed out, the AFL & NRL manage injury updates without problems. A reasonable estimate is all that's required. It's not as if members could demand a return by a certain date "cause they said so". Medical staff in the other codes still decide in consultation with the coaches. And the coaches still get to play ducks & drakes with team sheets.
P.S. Going by Dom's post in the thread where the SMH/9 journo Simon Chapman is trying to explain why the Tahs are so shit; they publish a long list of injuries and estimated return dates. So I guess their players are not that precious with their injury info.

Messaged Ash again regarding injury updates. Apparently there's still pushback from management!
If anyone from HQ if fielding Q&A's in the members at the Highlanders game could someone please chin them regarding the topic? I'm away until the end of May.
It appears we're the only sporting organisation in the world who is against sharing injury information!
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
From the British Journal of sports medicine, and appears to be releavant to Australia, as one of the authors is a professor at Melbourne University.
".... Clubs, leagues, and associations must comply with any applicable privacy, health, and medical records legislation in relation to the storage of, access to and disclosure of medical or health records of individual players. The general principle found in such legislation is that players’ medical records held by their employing clubs or league or association must be treated as confidential. The relationship between the player (as patient) and medical staff is treated as legally privileged and protected. It follows that a player’s medical records cannot and must not be released to any other person without the specific consent of the player.
In contrast, mandatory reporting policies such as those in the NFL and AFL, place teams and players under a positive obligation to give the league, media, supporters and even opposing teams, notification of the injury or illness status of players. This process, which entails players expressly waiving their confidentiality privilege to their own medical data, is regulated by collective bargaining agreements between the players’ unions, clubs and the league.
Players have been reported to regularly use social media platforms during injury recovery periods[6], however many players will typically be apprehensive to reveal their medical status, particularly if it may affect their selection and/or contract negotiations. Media and medical staff may recommend that players do not post any details or images of injuries or illnesses sustained and restrict all social media interaction on injuries or medical procedures to acknowledgement of well-wishers only...."
We scrum for posession, run for the try zone, bleed for the team and live for the game
With respect I don't really care Taz mate. When your main competitors in your own code and other local codes are keeping an open dialogue regarding the subject it's a really bad look for us..... and even worse for fan / member morale.
Especially when the team is having another bad season!
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
Just heard from Ash.
There are one or two players they will be giving injury updates on towards the end of the week.
Not the full list, but it's a start! Baby steps....
Great game, Fucken battled right through to the 80!
I'm glad to hear that. I noticed during that interview with the coach that they took injury queries and other questions from the BookFace brigade. The management definitely used to lurk here, not so sure these days with just a few dozen diehards still hanging around; but if they do the frustration surrounding this wont have been missed.
I don't know how much time you invested researching all that stuff Tazz; but it's irrelevant in any case. Estimates of return times are not personal medical data, lots of which is likely on the dark web these days anyhoo.

No; I know how to access it, but dont. However some of my ID information has made an appearance there before today (I have this monitored). Just like a lot of Medibank customers have had detailed medical info published. I've lately also had at least my driving licence and maybe my passport number stolen. But I can't have anything confirmed. Any other questions?
None of which is relevant to when some of our injured players can return.
Not Sure where to post this But Reg on GAGR has just posted about an exciting signing for The Force this afternoon any one keen on a guess??
Shasta what colour jocks are on the agenda today??

He's reportedly approached RA for a return to Rugby. He's 28 and been on the "dark side" about 13 years. Can't see him being made an offer similar to what he could get in RL - possibly even UK Superleague. Unless he fits Eddie's wing criteria. Mungo, big (around 100kg), very fast and good under the high ball (6'4"). Clickbait value?
I'm hearing it's a forward
