Shasta - I don't believe that Cam Smith is a good example of a Captain talking to the Referee. If he spoke to a Union Referee the way he spoke to a League Referee at times - he would no longer participate in the match.

By your own admission, you don't watch League. I do. Lots; and I can only recall one instance where I thought he was really out of order. But there were probably a few more. So I'll just say that after 18 years and 532 matches, I don't think you could find more than a handful of (possibly equally anti-RL) people to agree with you. By you're criteria, how TF did TJ Perenara, Nick White, Aaron Smuth, George Gregan and a stack of others ever complete a match??

I would say I dont watch a lot of League. I watch big matches - and if I am at a pub and its on TV I will watch it. I would also point out I said "at times" I am sure there are times that Smith is very respectful to the Referee. But, I havent seen that, and I can only comment on what I have seen.

Overall - the way NRL players speak to the Ref is disgusting IMHO.
