The hooker has the ball at the back of the maul. It is an advantage if he's strong & powerful when he barges over the line. If he is lighter it's more easy for the defence to push him back.

I'd stick Amone into the priority list.
and add marley to the important.
and Rahboni somewhere on the desired list.
and i like the look of Max so far...

Amone- can see that as a position, somewhere between the two for me but very good player at his stage of career
Marley-Assumed he would be tied up, or at least not a poaching target. Certainly want/need him to stay.

With us probably now not seeing big Santi & Throbba next year it's a prime time to give Hoskins a call..... especially with Exiles being in the shit financially. They have a LOT of players leaving.

Think we need a class hooker as well. It will give time for Horton to develop. Really not sure what's happened to Kaitu'u. But hoping he can get back to showing the form and promise of a few years ago.

Horton punches way above his weight. Love his attitude. He's an old-fashioned Junkyard Dog. Fights in the trenches. He can only improve with time and experience.

Horton basically offers a second Openside, he has a very bright future ahead, just hope it is in Perth as in a year or two (or even post RWC retirements) there's going to be serious money being thrown at him.

If Rebolo is taking a full contract spot, at 27-28 I'd be wanting to see him at least get a bench start this season to test him in the heat of battle, otherwise he is filling space. That said, as a 27-28 international player he should be more than a development player.

If Hoskins isn't available I go for Slipper on a 2-year deal and tell him he's playing THP. Gives Amone and Abra more time to develop.

I reckon that could be smart ROI too, he would likely be battling for decent Europe money and possibly getting a bit long in the tooth for the faster Japanese and USA Leagues.

I usually watch some Premiership matches during the off season; particularly Irish over the past few years considering how many ex-Force players they've had. Ollie Hoskins starts for them most matches and more than holds his own at THP. I was a little surprised he re-signed with them last year, until 2025 IIRC. I thought he'd look to come home and try to add to his 1 cap in a RWC year. He said at the time he'd considered it but chose to repay the faith shown in giving him a shot when he was very inexperienced. Irish were Div 2 at the time. He is a symptom of our problem of not having development tier.
