Recent history shows they don't work or react well with any coaches.

The contract might have expired at the date of the RWC final (optimistically) but I could see a world where the contract extends a couple of weeks past the finish of RWC to ensure he's available for reviews and press commitments. Rennie might still be under contract and on "gardening leave" and Eddie's contract has terminated.
Head Coach of the Kobe Steelers for the 23/24 season so I'd assume not.

The problems are what result from cronyism, elitism, lack of vision & lack of attention to detail in development pathways for coaches as well as players. It's common to say "The only way is up from here". But it's difficult to see how. We have been stuck in Groundhog Day for 20 years, saying the same old shit about root & branch overhauls and then doing the same old the same old shit - again and again.

I really had some hope when McHamish (Thanks GIGS ) took over but look back at what some of his "achievements" have been. First up appointing another Mosman insider to head up the RWC bid....Then the Rennie clusterf@ck closely followed by boning an effective CEO who disagreed and appointing another Shore boy to replace him. Followed by hashing the private equity lifeline.........we all know the rest of the story so far......

It's always seems a bit pointless to come here and simply list all that is wrong without some sketchy idea of a solution. Burgs offered up a few good ones. But don't see anything that doesn't start with the current imposters doing The Walk of Shame

My point wasn't that he might come back, my point was that he's still getting paid and the bloke who replaced him isn't

I went through a couple of rejects before I settled on that.

The GAGR crew have referred to him as "the Hammer" so I went through a couple of options related to that.

My best was the Styrofoam Sledgehammer, lightweight, soft and ineffective

If I had the appropriate skills I'd do a cartoon around Nero and "Rome" burning while he plays in Paris.
Hopefully his Champagne hangover has passed now and we may get an RA statement on it all.

Wondering why it isn't "effective immediately"?
Can only assume he is contributing to the Review.

“Rugby Australia can confirm that it has accepted the resignation of Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones, and he will depart the position on 25 November 2023,” RA said in a statement on Tuesday morning.

Would you listen to anything he said now?I think the actual work of the review will be summed up fairly briefly, Eddie sucks and everything's his fault, nobody else could reasonably be blamed for the outcome, especially not the blokes who are paying me overs to sit in a bar with expensive food and drinks for 2 months conducting a review. That'll be written in the first ten minutes to leave plenty of time to gorge oneself and collect a massive paycheck

I do believe he came for the long term and had the best interests of Australian Rugby at heart.
    The evidence?
Why on earth else would he have gone on such a path of upheaval?
If he was just returning to get through the RWC and move on he surely would have maintained the status quo of regurgitated players, leaders and coaching staff. Then any success was his and any failures was Rennie's.
I also believe we wouldn't have done any better, at best a lost QF, under Rennie and would have seen the cracks papered over for another season or two, enough time to doom our home WC.
As poorly as the process has been handled by almost all individuals, it doesn't make it wrong.
Eddie said it best re eating shit so can eat caviar. It had to be done, just the goldfish bowl public didn't have the faith, appetite or endurance to see the course.
I'm really just waiting for someone to bring it all together on socials now to suggest the grand plan was to weaken Australia prior to improving Japan's pathway, surely that's it...
