The darkness I'm afraid. They will be back at world no1 and 4 times World cup winners. 4 years of unprecedented sanctimony from across the dutch await bro!

If the Boks get up after the last 2 games they are extremely worthy, and possibly superhuman

I don't know why but I happened to be awake for it so, rather than torture myself trying to get back to sleep I turned it on.It was a fascinating contest worthy of being called a clash of styles. Adjudicated well and I can't think of a valid complaint from either side (I expect the complaints will come, but I can't think of a valid one right now)The cane card was reasonable, probably borderline in srp, but this was rwc so saveas surprise at the upgrade was surely play acting.I really though the blacks were going to get the job done in the dying minutes, so well done to the bokke.Isn't it great to be able to watch two highly skilled teams doing what they do at ferocious intensity for 80 minutes. It can't be any clearer in my mind that our individuals aren't at that level and therefore no coach or game plan will fix it until our core development improves.

I didn't get up to watch it live; but what a contest. It's become a bit of a habit for NZ to get it done in the big minutes of the biggest matches. But not this time. You'd have to be pretty hard-hearted not to feel sympathy for Cane; given the situation & that the hit was not an absolutely obvious RC. Kalesi was maybe a little lucky not to get the same.

Having said that neither side has really come to terms with the discipline needed around brain injuries. So one side can take the win but accept they avoided defeat by a bee's.
