One assumes that the previous rumours had some substance after all.

That seems to me that Rodda is off.

It could be, but also could just be a consolidation with the cover we have had to bring in for him (Carter/Franklin).
I know loyalty doesn't mean as much as it used to by any stretch, but my impression is Rodda is both pretty settled and grateful for the Force sticking with him.
I can't see him wanting to chase cash rather than Lions after this long a "journey".

Wow. Holy fuck hardly covers it. I've said here how high I rate him. After 2 quick opening tries yesterday the Drua had the Brums under immense pressure for the next 40-50 minutes, particularly at scrum time. Enter Swain, Reimer & Lonergon and the momentum evened up. All the talk was rightly about Luke Reimer but Swain was just as effective. When Fiji surged late and looked like earning a bonus point Swain won a crucial lineout steal that sealed it.
    Extremely great news.

I would hope not. I'd like to see Rodda and Swain as a locking combination with Williams at 6. Besides, this year has taught us there will always be injuries to cover.

With the amount of penalties we give away every game he will fit in perfectly.

Yes, was just going to add that, that assuming retention of Rodda, Williams is likely more being looked at for #6 and #4-5 cover. Would be an awesome 3 x lineout option With Swain-Rodda-Williams.
Longevity of Princep will play a role, as will what's happening with Anstee, but '25 is looking better than '24 at this point.

Wasn’t he a red card man? Do we need to be giving any more penalties away?
Looks like the no DH policy has been thrown out the window.

Pleasantly surprised. Hopefully, keep Rodda too. I'd be going after Petaia and Eloff.

Interesting. I like him as a player but am concerned with his discipline, especially as we seem to give away penalties constantly. But when was his last card? A very lazy google says 22, is that just Wallabies? Either way I think he is a great get.

Especially as much as I would like to see Rodda stay, I keep thinking we copped the shit sandwich of paying him with not much/little return. Soon to be a father, his decision making now focuses on family and not himself. Either way I wish him well... but how good Perth to raise a family!!!

Anyway since we are penalty magnets according to the officials, might as well get some mongrel in there, gee I have missed a player like Coleman. We need that mongrel, we are paying for it might as well benefit

I wonder if they would consider Hooper for a year after the Olympics.

Need another world class winger or outside centre. Maybe go after Daugunu

Daugunu, absolutely. But contracted to the Rebels until 2025 (apply caveats)
