    Force Debutants

On Saturday, Hoopert is set to become Force's 38th debutant in the last two seasons (noting that this season is still in progress!)

To put that in to context, Force only had 39 debutants in the first two seasons of existence...where EVERYONE was making their debuts in Year 1!

There were 36 debutants across the two and a bit seasons of Super Rugby interregnum when our squad was torn apart & we were forced to rebuild for World Series Rugby/Global Rapid Rugby

Season-by-season the number of new Force caps were as follows:

    2006 - 33 debuts - 13 games (Inaugural season)
    2007 - 6 debuts - 13 games
    2008 - 10 debuts - 13 games
    2009 - 4 debuts - 13 games
    2010 - 18 debuts - 13 games
    2011 - 10 debuts - 16 games
    2012 - 18 debuts - 16 games
    2013 - 14 debuts - 16 games
    2014 - 13 debuts - 16 games
    2015 - 7 debuts - 16 games
    2016 - 11 debuts - 15 games
    2017 - 15 debuts - 15 games
    2018 - 24 debuts - 7 games (World Series Rugby)
    2019 - 7 debuts - 9 games (Global Rapid Rugby)
    2020 - 10 debuts - 9 games (5 debuts in 1 GRR game, 5 debuts in 8 SR-AU games)
    2021 - 13 debuts - 14 games
    2022 - 9 debuts - 14 games
    2023 - 20 debuts - 14 games
2024 - 18 debuts* - 11 games* (*assuming Hoopert debut vs Fiji, and still 3 more games to go after that)

That's pretty much one debutant per game over the entire Super Rugby/WSR/GRR history of the Western Force.

Hoopert is set to become Force no.260 on Saturday after just 253 matches

As a comparison, last week, Liam Bowron became Brumby no.260 after 411 matches.

    Nice work mate
Was looking at the warm up jersey numbers the other day for it must have been the Brumbies and thought we (and Rebs) were pretty high in comparison.
I guess another way to state it would be average career matches, which leads to debuts, rather than just the debuts themselves.
Certainly a lot of players now that I wouldn't be able to remember that only ever gained a couple of Caps.
Seem to recall hearing/reading once that an average AFL career was two matches?
