well then they would know that there probably hasnt been a better English cricketer this summer than Collingwood.

Not saying he deserves an OBE or anything but he has proved his worth this summer.

In the main touring side, Panesar was the only one who exceeded his potential & played with hunger & passion. Collingwood only played 1 innings of note during the 5 Test series (and that was in a losing game!).

second in Englands averages for the ashes series - fair enough one score was 200 and another was 96 but this is against the "best bowling" attack in their home country.

his one day series has been very good, taking wickets at a reason economy rate for a part time bowler. Made a few runs with a century last game and maybe on his way in the first final. he has fielded well with good catches (great one in todays final) and been involved in many run outs.

Panesar exceeded his potential? apart from Fletcher and FLintoff everyone else in England knew his potential, everyone expected him to do what he did.

I know its only one game and no need to get carried away but it was still a great performance!

I think you should all leave "Wilko" and the england team alone. It is more than possible that they will revert to Wilko even if he is not fully fit and, for me, that would be a great decision as I love to see england play to their strengths. In addition, if we sit here quietly we will be able to hear the english fans spin themselves into a frenzy of self belief and arrogant ranting while the english team implodes with players pointing fingers and accusing the world of being nasty to them.
