G'day Adrian Barich here from 6PR and Channel 7 ... Just letting everyone know that 6PR (882 on your AM dial) will broadcast all the Force home games again this year as well as most of the away matches. Home commentary team is local boy and renowned poet, Mick Collis (former of Uni Rugby) plus Lachie Mackay (when not playing) and Mitch Hardy ( former Wallaby and Force employee).

Heya Barra, welcome along (back I believe, didn't you sign up last year as well )
Not a bad start last night mate.
Perhaps a tad more research just to knock the edges off and a couple of times on the conversion people kept discussing the match rather than cutting in to report the outcome of the kick, but I am being a tough marker!
Great to hear the insight from Lachie, hopefully you can get hold of another when he does start playing again?
Best wishes for the season to the team
Look forward to seeing you around TWF!

    6PR Radio coverage

Adrian Barich here from 6PR and Channel 7 ... Just letting everyone know that 6PR (882 on your AM dial) will broadcast all the Force home games again this year as well as most of the away matches. Home commentary team is local boy and renowned poet, Mick Collis (formerly of Uni Rugby) plus Lachie Mackay (until he gets over OP) and Mitch Hardy ( former Wallaby and Force employee).

Obviously we are always looking to improve our product and tailor it to the listeners needs, so any idea's or feedback will be much appreciated. We are an official media partner of the Force (ALONG WITH 96FM) so we've got plenty of scope and resources to attempt most things.

Currently we are brain-storming ways of getting Force fans to listen to the coverage while they are sitting in the stands at Subi. In other sports, many in the crowd bring a radio but in rugby it doesn't seem to happen much.

Don't be greedy Barra, we aren't smart enough to answer you twice

Re the Subi broadcast, your major competition will be the "Sports Ears" were you can listen to the Ref &/or the Fox Sports telecast.
I tend to just listen to the Ref as you can hear the nearby players as well.
    Good luck though

Burgs, don't know how I managed to repeat myself, the system made me do an intro somewhere and it seems I've balls things up. Apologises for the duplication but thanks for the feedback re: last night. I'll pass it onto Mick and Lachie.

Truly amazing what you can remember from 40 years ago when there's 200 bucks worth of the amber up for grabs

Nah mate, it's a little trannie radio that you have for a broadcast within the ground.
You can get them from the Force Super Store if you wanted to see one, they are used around Australia and I think NZ too.
Like a Walkman but only radio and the closed circuit Ref.
Maybe one of the boys in the box should wear one to hear the Ref

"Sports Ears" are basically an FM radio with a swith to hear
    A) Commentary from Fox
    B) The refs and touch judges microphone
A+B One in one ear and other in the other.

Great for understanding whats happening with decisions and even hearing the players.
They work on any ground with the Fox team doing Super 14 plus the tests and they also work at the grounds in NZ.

    They cost around $80.

I bought a set for myself last year but my wife listened to it and wouldnt give them back to me so I had to buy a set for myself.

When watching Fox at home only the refs mike comes through on the sound. But at the ground you can also hear the touch judges and the TMO (television match official - the dude up in the stand who didnt award the try that would have us beat the Crusaders)

its amazing what you hear....touch judges telling the ref of players off side and all sorts of stuff...

you even get a laugh or two hearing the player plead their case

$80 bucks! Dam! I still need to get another Force jersey because the one I have is close to fully signed and when it is I will be framing it. Force jersey + Sports ears= Shaun big time broke... I think I will just stick with the Jersey for now...
