A bit premature Peter, we aren't exactly world beaters ourselves at present

Half-baked team is full of leeks

THE Australian Rugby Union should approach the immigration department to have the Wales squad refused entry when it lands, for travelling under false pretences.

These blokes are telling porkies, claiming to be an international rugby team when 18 of their best players are staying at home.

This is a half-baked band of wannabes who will succeed only in dragging the game's reputation even lower than it already is in Australia.

One thing the code in Australia does not need is a so-called Test series that will barely register on the quality meter.

Tickets sales for the opening match at Telstra Stadium later this month are already disastrous.

This is looming as a sad repeat of the 1998 disaster, when England left their top stars at home and the Wallabies steamrolled to a 76-0 drubbing, scoring 11 tries.

Wales is bringing some experience but the bulk of the side that played in the Six Nations is being kept wrapped in cotton wool.

Head coach Gareth Jenkins claims his side will be "highly competitive".

At what, Gareth? Because it sure as hell won't be rugby.
