In 1957 the Indonesian Government appropriated the brewery, and retained control for the next ten years. In 1967 Heineken resumed operations of the brewery, which was later renamed "Multi Bintang Indonesia".[3]
Bintang Beer won a Gold Medal at the 2011 Brewing Industry International Awards (BIIA) having participated in the 3.8% to 4.7% alcohol by volume category. It was one of 796 entries competing across 9 categories and 32 classes.

Had a moo brew recently didn't mind it so thought I would try a couple more of their beers. Went to a localish store and they have an excelent variety of all beers and the moo brew range not thinking about it to much I decided a mixed 4 pack would be a good idea. Got to the till the guy rings it up and then informs me that's $40, I say I don't think so he informs me that one of the beers I picked up is $25 a bottle some bottle aged stout. I put it back $25 for a bottle of 330mL beer, that would want to be a nice beer.
