Preview WAJRU U15's Palmyra v CBC

Well its that time of year again. The school holidays are over holiday training had been a waste of time and then we realise we have a game this week. This week the Pally boys come up against the newest side in WAJRU CBC.

Heres a bit of info about each team.

CBC started when a ex-Pally boy left the club. He wanted to start a team up at his school. To his credit within a year they got a team up and running. They werent the greatest team in the world with 17 out of the 18 players converting from footy you would expect CBC to be the whipping boys of the competition. But they do show signs of improving. However a lot of improve is still required.

Palmyra This palmyra team has had a lot.
I mean a lot of ups and downs. 2 seasons ago to be pushing for finals to last season to only winning 2 games and finishing bottom and the division 1 ladder. This year with a new coach and some new players. The season looks promising. The forward pack will be one of the most mobile forward packs in the competition. With all forwards having at least 1 season under there belt. The backline is a mixture of experience and rookies. With a strong halfback 5/8 and centre combinations all looks promising.

    Previous Encounters

    Palmyra 4 wins

    CBC 0 wins
    2007 - Preseason 10-a-side competition. Pally won 9tries - 2tries
    2006 - DNP
2005 - Pally won +50-0 teams (swapped around at halftime)
    - Pally won +50-0
    - Preseason 10-a-side competition. Pally won by forfeit.

    What to expect

CBC not a lot to expect from this team. However no matter what the score they never give up. They will try and rumble it up in the forwards with quick phases and not much width in there play.

Palmyra A running game. With the team rule 'no kicking' expect a lot of width. However with Palmyra having one of the strongest lineouts they will be looking for touch a lot with little chips through. Palmyra will be hitting it up. With a lot of pick and drives and hit ups. When with the forwards palmyra will be looking for control. Then when it becomes backs ball it will be quick and fast, with a lot of inside ball for the fullback.

    The Verdict

First game of the year. Wont expect much out of th game. Palmyra like i said will be playing and attacking style that CBC will not be able to control.

Palmyra to win with the score 50-0 which is mercy rule in Juniors.
