Word is that three "impressions" to be displayed include Oval stadiums at East Perth and Mueller Park and 2 Brand Spanking new stadiums at burswood - one Oval and one Rectangular....

As Coach indicated the plans I viewed yesterday had no figures or written material just the artists impresssions and floor plans.

The first option was a re built oval at Subiaco on Mueller Park.

The second was an oval at East Perth Power Station site. The pathetic thing about this one is that in all the arial photos and impressions you can see poor old MES just sitting in the background begging for some attention. It also highlights that this option does provide a "sports precinct" of sorts.

The third and my fav, Oval on back nine of Burswood GC and rectangular on front nine with tennis centre. Also will have pedestrian bridge from East Perth and possible ferry service.

Let's see what the pollies think.

Take it you're not a golfer - Burswood is the only course in real proximity to Perth and is always busy. I wonder which would be the best money spinner for the Casino (which used to - may still - run golfing tours from Japan to play the course. Worth a bomb to them, what with the missus parked at the tables all day)

Actually Andy I am a golfer and golf courses are one thing that we are very rich iwith here in WA and there are plenty of better courses within 30 minutes or so drive of Burswood or the city. The course itself is actually a public course owned by Town of Vic Park and NOT Burswood as most people think. Sorry but they only make a profit from ya missus!

Yep, I think the EP option might lend creedence to a 'sports precinct' concept. Being close to two (2) rail lines and the freeway gives it greater weight than the Mueller park, or even the Burswood option.

We humble minions can merely wait and see (then get worked up closer to election time).
