Nedlands blow away Wests on windswept Foreshore

Nedlands blow away Wests on windswept Foreshore

Competition pace setter Nedlands staked an early claim to the 2007 Home Building Society competition flag with a humiliating 45-5 thrashing of defending premier Wests-Subiaco at the Foreshore today.

I found that the game was played in good spirit and was reff'd very well. Any disrespect to the ref was penalised . The penalty count would have been very much the same for both sides. Nedlands played to the match day conditions better than west's.

Being a journo is a lot like being a referee. No matter what you do, one side thinks you're being too hard on them and too easy on the opposition; and the opposition think exactly the same but in reverse.

Very true. Poeple would be saying things to me like "what's the diiference between a catfish and a lawyer? One's a cold-blooded, slimy bottom-feeder--

and the other one's a fish."

    (Sorry Frank).

No, quite. I'm about 50 kg light, for a start.

    (Sorry again Frank.)

Hey, are you guys having the Bledisloe Cup on the big screen down at Tompkins Park this Saturday? Kalamunda v Paly is my game of the round and the test match is on immediately after it, right?

And secondly, is that bloody giant wing of yours ever going to play rugby this season?

I'll answer a la John Howard in Question Time, In fact, you've asked three questions:

    1.Yes

    2.Yes

    3. Don't know. Do you seriously think we need him? Well, probably.
I'm told the issue of whether or not he plays arises at the Force Academy end , but that's probably BS. If he wants to play and is selected he'll play. If not, hey, we've won as many games as any other team has this season without him.

I'm told there will be one or two other new players against Kalamunda so it should be interesting. We don't recruit all our players from Nedlands.
