    To whom it may concern,

I'm writing to you to ask about your policy on the proposed new stadium to be built at Kitchener Park.

I'm voter in your electorate and a member of a group of sports supporters who are opposed to this concept as a one size fits all solution to the needs of all sports in WA. We do not see that the weekly conversion from a rectangular configuration for Super 14 rugby to an oval for AFL as likely to succeed. There is ample evidence that this type of operation damages the surface and makes it prone to cause player injuries. We feel that, as the major tenant and likely stadium manager, the WAFC would have it's interests placed ahead of other sports when this eventuates.

Cats still wary of surface | Herald Sun

We feel that the AFL and WAFC were heavily involved in discussions with the Government over the issue and are wondering what undertakings they were given in order to swing them from being adamantly opposed to the concept to being on side. They were not revealed. The over emphasis given to AFL in these deliberations also does not fit well with the changing population demographic of WA in 2008 and beyond.

Please see………. Footy favouritism fear - Local news - inMyCommunity - Perth, Western Australia

The Kitchener Park concept seems to be already costing WA in terms of being seriously considered as a host for top level international sports tournaments such as the Commonwealth Games and Soccer World Cup matches. With the likelhood of further expansion of Super Rugby and Football A League there will be too many shedule clashes and we feel the only solution to these problems is the development of a smaller capacity dedicated rectalgular stadium for Soccer, Rugby and Rugby League.

Please feel free to contact me via e mail if you'd like to discuss this matter or call me on (Phone No supplied)

Not all of 'em. Only the ones who have a seat to lose, so far.

I'll be looking on the Electoral Commission website on Monday. I want complete lists of candidates by electorate, we can then publish a 'phone directory.

I reckon Phone or in person is the way to go, you can really tell who a pollie is by listening try to justify a position that they've been thrust into on the fly!

I believe email is definitely the way to go - phone calls are pointless short of recording the call and then you have to advise them that you are recording it.
