Good to see that you are still flying the flag. Couldn't be arsed starting a new thread so have borrowed yours!

Week number two in Edin and would you believe it I actually got to sit out in the sun yestrday and have a beer! Managed to get about 10 mins worth the day before as well. Unfortunately the lovely low grey cloud is back again, so no more sun today, although they did say it was going to be fine tomorrow (balmy 19 degrees).

Two things have struck me so far. The first is that age of some of the buildings and bridges around here, dating back to the 1100's - that's old! (although we have seen a yew tree that is 5,000 years old). The second thing is the number of pubs in this place - there everywhere! I've been pacing myself, a couple each day - not wanting to over do it. Have not had too much trouble with the accents either, most you can understand, although I have been told on a few occasions that my accent is hard to understand and sometimes being too Australian!

Anyhow, my 30 mins is almost up. Off to Ireland next week folks, so will let you now how the Guiness is from the source.

Did you get a magnet or t-shirt with that "No kangaroos in Austria" ? I got some from an Austrian souvenir shop, which funnily enough was owned by a chick from Melbourne

I found there was lots of vodka in Poland too, dont know what thats about

Yes, I did!!! It is right next to a lovely hotel, though. The tour-bus driver selflessly ensured the route was well supplied with refreshment stops. It was, however, no coincidence that our hotel had a lovely pub attached - with its own brewery!!! No driving after dinner, just a short stagger...

Hope Happy & Crazy don't mind Harry & Sally hijacking their thread - perhaps we'll have to start our own...

Mind you, I seem to be a bit too busy to get online these days, not sure why...

My turn to semi-hijack this thread......in case any of you weren't aware, I'm jetting off to Europe (via USA for work) to watch the Scots take on the All Blacks at Murrayfield (70,000 sell-out.....be prepared for fireworks).

Unfortunately work duties mean that I'll miss Happy & Dave by about a day but I will be catching up with Harry & Sally when there.

Before the fun begins in Europe, I will be seeing our very own Stateside supporter, LarryNJ in Philadelphia - hopefully in time for the England v South Africa match. He's promised to bring his wife as well (I've to give her a slap on the arse on Coach's behalf) and I'll let you all know if she's as hot as Larry makes out!!!!

I may as well hi-jack into Happy's thread as well. We are now in UK and will be on our way to cardiff on Friday for the game against Wales this weekend. will be at the Cardiff Rugby club on Fri evening and at the Wallaby embassy before and after the game.Will also be in Marseille for the quarter finals.With any luck Shep will be playing. Hope to meet up with you along the way.

My heartfelt sympathies to those of you who could not join us in a piss drinking whirlwind tour around Europe due to other commitments and responsibilities.
Thankfully my travel partners and I find ourselves in a position where no such commitments or responsibilities have impacted on our desire to drink every known alcohol based product north of Perth and I reserve the right to brag about it at every opportunity...
