30-12-08, 19:55 - by Coach
Wishing all TWF members and visitors a happy and prosperous 2009!

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may Nathan Sharpe hold the 2009 Super 14 premiership trophy in the palm of his hand.

Western Force push for Members Equity Staduim - We Got Corners!
20-12-08, 8:48 - by travelling_gerry
The Western Force board have decided to move to Members equity from 2010.

With plummeting member numbers and a rent bill pushing $2,000,000 a year (The move will cost the Western Australian Football Commission $1,900,000 a year in lost rent) Subiaco oval is no longer a viable venue for Super14 rugby in Western Australia.

A deal has yet to be struck with Town of Vincent and Allia Holdings.

The seating capacity of MES is to be increased to 21,000 together with transportable corporate boxes and 2 big screens.

Existing individual and corporate members will get priority for seats / suites for 2010 and 2011.

John O'Neill will be in Perth next month to lobby the government over its 2004 promise a new stand at MES.

The Wallabies were unable to recover from a chaotic first half in which they lost skipper Stirling Mortlock and winger Peter Hynes, both to head knocks, and also had hooker Stephen Moore sin-binned for a professional foul.

The battered Australians were fortunate not be trailing by more than five points at the break and, once Welsh fly half Stephen Jones potted a 76th-minute penalty goal to put his side eight points up, their dreams of becoming the first Wallabies since 1996 to complete a four-Test spring tour of Europe lay in tatters.

For Wales, it was an ecstatic end to a memorable year in which they also won the Six Nations... [Read More]
