Having been released from his contract by the Scarlets All Blacks prop forward Kees Meeuws admits he is busy re-evaluating his rugby playing career - deciding whether to continue playing or hang up his boots and focus on coaching.
Meeuws has endured a couple very painful years with injury while at the Welsh region and, having played just 12 matches last season, was released from his contract with 12 months of it still to run.
A veteran of 42 test caps, the New Zealander told the BBC that he and his family have not made any concrete decisions regarding what his next step will be but that he could well have played his last professional match.
"I felt it was time for a new challenge and my family are looking at an option to return to New Zealand," Meeuws told the BBC.
"I haven't finally decided whether to keep playing in Europe or to take another option and retire from playing and move into coaching."
The former Highlanders star, now 34, made his debut for the mighty All Blacks in 1998 but has not featured for them since moving to Europe in 2004.

Wonder if he'd fancy a few months of sunshine dabbling with coaching...?
