An early grudge match.
I see the Queenslanders still carry the scars from when half the team dived from the sinking ship to join the Force. Nobody bares a grudge as well as a Queenslander. It leaves a gaping hole that manifests as a window into their soul that one can needle and niggle and open up some old wounds. Dead set it's easy, and not half fun. Chips on the shoulders the size of boulders makes them a bit top heavy and the torque makes them a little unsteady.........unhinged even. Rage only takes you so far however.
I see the trial is back at HQ. The "rugby to the regions" concept didn't take off as hoped.
Both teams are likely to be at near full strength in the final hit out before the super 14 begins.
QLD are heading off to South Africa following the trial. A more competent management might have considered staging the trial half way to Joburg in Perth. The concept may sink in halfway across the Indian Ocean. Possibly following the poor turnout in Toowoomba, the QRU treasury is looking a little low in the doom and gloom of the economic downturn. Will the punters turn up at Ballymore? Is this a new dawn for the Reds?
The Reds have had a lot of personel changes but may need to consider changes at the top of the administration before they can move forward. Change starts at the top.
This should be a trial with fire and niggle. The hate is palpable. Queenslanders find themselves in a new era. They're not quite sure who they should hate more.....NSW or the Force. Judging by the trial match venues, the Force are the new pin up for the dart board. Bring it on..................
