    Force V Queensland Ballymore trial

    An early grudge match.

I see the Queenslanders still carry the scars from when half the team dived from the sinking ship to join the Force. Nobody bares a grudge as well as a Queenslander. It leaves a gaping hole that manifests as a window into their soul that one can needle and niggle and open up some old wounds. Dead set it's easy, and not half fun. Chips on the shoulders the size of boulders makes them a bit top heavy and the torque makes them a little unsteady.........unhinged even. Rage only takes you so far however.

I see the trial is back at HQ. The "rugby to the regions" concept didn't take off as hoped.

Both teams are likely to be at near full strength in the final hit out before the super 14 begins.

QLD are heading off to South Africa following the trial. A more competent management might have considered staging the trial half way to Joburg in Perth. The concept may sink in halfway across the Indian Ocean. Possibly following the poor turnout in Toowoomba, the QRU treasury is looking a little low in the doom and gloom of the economic downturn. Will the punters turn up at Ballymore? Is this a new dawn for the Reds?

The Reds have had a lot of personel changes but may need to consider changes at the top of the administration before they can move forward. Change starts at the top.

This should be a trial with fire and niggle. The hate is palpable. Queenslanders find themselves in a new era. They're not quite sure who they should hate more.....NSW or the Force. Judging by the trial match venues, the Force are the new pin up for the dart board. Bring it on..................

How about some running rugby from the attack coach?

chis, when you wake up in the morning, do you look in the mirror and tell yourself anything in particular?

cos you talk so much dribble!

queensland took there trial match to toowoomba to help launch a new team in there state cup and spread rugby further than brisbane, this trial is being played in brisbane as i would assume they have the same contract the waratahs have with the sfs to provide one trail match at there home ground before the season starts.

they would be stupid to take the game to perth because they are going to ude a large squad for the trial and rest some players and that means they would be flying 40 blokes to perth then flying ten home as the rest continue on!

there is no new era, the new era you speak of is the reds rebuilding after being decimated, there coach and the team there putting in place long haul is what building a team is all about, they havnt gone out and broke the bank or done dodgy deals to get players, they are building a young team with a few old heads between. the force could learn alot from mooney!

Isn't it heart warming to see Tah and Red fans feeling the love?

chisel, i only asked that you based your arguments on fact, figures and knowledge...

Another example where you let your own feelings get in the way of the truth...

TOCC you may know this answer - is the Reds moving back to the home of rugby - ballymore or still playing to a half empty suncorp stadium ?

    try 3 quarters empty......

I assume that Suncorp Stadium (or another sponsor) pays them to play there

no they are remaining at Suncorp, because it is a clause within the QR contract that they play out of Suncorp..(there is no train station to serve ballymore).

I should also point out, that going with Western Force crowd figures form 2008, the stadium would also be less then half full.

not there. maybe on the other side if the Packers still have money, from their money-losing TV stations and media interests to their money-losing casinos...
