    Wallabies pack to strike first

    Wallabies pack to strike first

    June 28, 2008

AUSTRALIA'S forwards will adopt the political philosophy of former Labor wag Fred Daly who opined: "Do unto others as they would do unto you, but make sure you do it first."

France have made no secret of the fact they intend to attack the Wallabies through the "soft centre" in the forwards.

If the French can unsettle the forwards with hard, uncompromising play, it will help Les Bleus cause an upset.

But Australia's pack is not only ready for the French onslaught, they are also planning their own attack up front.

"They have already stated where they want to attack us and that's great for us because we want to take it to them," second-rower Nathan Sharpe said.

"If that's the way they are going to come at us, we are ready for that and we are ready to go back at them.

"The guys are very excited about that opportunity. If it does turn into one of those games, we've got an opportunity to stamp our authority on the game."
