    Back line depth!

What will the Walabies Back line look like this year.? Cripes there is some talent floating around... I'd hate to be the selectors!!

    15) Sheperd / Gerrard / Mitchell / JOC / AAC / SNK
    14) Sheperd / Iaone / Mitchell / Cummings / Hynes /Turner
    13) Mortlock / Cross / Iaone
    12) JOC / Barnes / Giteau / Smith / SNK
    11) Tuiqiri / Iaone / Hynes / Rathbone
    10) Giteau / Cooper / JOC / Barnes / Halangahu /SNK

All REtahDs backs will need in depth specialised training to reacquaint themselves as to what a rugby ball actually is.

    For me:

    10. Barnes
    11. Ioane
    12. Giteau
    13. Mortlock
    14. Mitchell
    15. Shepherd

    21. Ashley-Cooper
    22. Turner

With Mortlock under extreme pressure to perform, otherwise:

    10. Barnes
    11. Turner
    12. Giteau
    13. Ioane
    14. Mitchell
    15. Shepherd

    21. Ashley-Cooper
    22. Gerrard

If either Giteau or Barnes injured then O'Connor straight on to the field for the next match at #12.

Great to see the selectors having to select!

you can rule out Gerrard and SNK as they are going overseas

still some very good choices, Digby can always play on a wing if Mortlock gets the gig ahead of him as Burgs has in his first team choice, I agree with Burgs regarding Mortlock, perform or perish

Forgot about Gerrard heading off, replace him with Hynes in my second selection...

strange comment. For all their failings, the Reds backs have probably seen the most ball this season out of all the super 14 teams. In fact there has been criticism that the backs are throwing it around too much.

Who's at scrum half...? Burgess, Valentine, Holmes?

Was just responding to the original post positions but probably in that order for me Mud.
I find Burgess and Holmes almost "twins" so Valentine gives a point of difference as I discussed a couple of days ago about Scrumhalves.

    Very underated player I think.

Also, with all the backs depth out there, I can see O'Connor being put in as captain for the junior world cup later in the year and coming into the Wallabies squad at the end of that, much like Pocock last year.
