A good re-signing for the Brumbies, their contracting arrangements seem to be going nicely for next year.

Tawake stays in Canberra

June 14, 2007

THE Brumbies today re-signed No.8 Jone Tawake on a one-year deal.

Tawake, 25, will contend with George Smith, Stephen Hoiles, Julian Salvi and new recruit Mitchell Chapman for a position at the back of the Brumbies' Syper 14 scrum in 2008.

Leaving for Dunedin this morning as part of the Australia A squad to play the Junior All Blacks on Saturday, Tawake said he is pleased to remain in Canberra for another season.

"I'm very happy to be staying with the Brumbies," he said.

"I've had four great seasons here and I love playing in Canberra."

Brumbies CEO Andrew Fagan said: "While he's been an excellent competitor at Super 14 level since 2002, Jone's still only 25 and we're excited at the prospect that his best football is probably still ahead of him."
